Office of Spartan Experience Provided Trainings

The Office of Spartan Experiences supports RSOs by hosting engaging and practical trainings designed to strengthen leadership, operations, and community impact. Through customized workshops and skill-building sessions, the office provides student leaders with the tools they need to successfully manage their organizations and navigate campus involvement. In addition to RSO-specific trainings, the Office of Spartan Experiences offers learning opportunities throughout the year, ensuring students have ongoing access to development, resources, and support at every stage of their leadership journey.

If your RSO is looking for a guest speaker for a meeting or helping your organization navigate a situation, Michigan State has numerous partners around campus that look forward to working with our Spartans. We have listed some areas that some of our campus partners are able to present on. If you are in need of any help in getting into contact with a speaker or need some help processing an idea, be sure to reach out to involve@msu.edu and one of the RSO staff can help you out. 

 

  • Career and Professional Development

    The Career Services Network is happy to provide a presentation that meets the needs of your student organization. Our Career Peer team is trained in various career-related topics, and will ensure the workshop is informative, interactive and effective.

  • University Health and Wellbeing

    University Health and Wellbeing is committed to engaging the campus community to create a culture of health and wellbeing so all Spartans can feel their best!  

    To request outreach programming and services through University Health and Wellbeing, please complete the UHW Outreach Program Request Form. Outreach Requests are reviewed and processed through the Engagement Team within Health Promotion, Engagement, Accessibility and Accommodation, and this form helps us to navigate how we can best accommodate your request. Please reach out to uhwoutreach@msu.edu with any questions.

  • Spartan Experience Record

    Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to request a tailored workshop to best meet their needs and interests surrounding the Spartan Experience Record.

    To request a workshop for your department, organization, club, or other group, please fill out this form and a member of the Spartan Experience Record Team will reach out to you to schedule or gather more information.

    Sessions are led by and Spartan Experience Record Staff and student Ambassadors. Topics of workshops requests can include the following:

  • Prevention, Outreach, and Education (Bystander, RVSM, etc)

    Prevention, Outreach, and Education works with MSU Students to host their Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct trainings and Bystander Training series of workshops. They are also a great partner to bring into speak to RSOs about a plethora of topics. Workshops are designed to be facilitated by request; individuals who can request these workshops include Residence Assistants, RSO student leaders, and more!   • Ombuds Office (Relationship Building and Conflict Management)

    Whether you are a student, faculty member, or staff, the Office of the University Ombudsperson offers a confidential place to discuss both academic and nonacademic concerns including, administrative issues, workplace issues, or any concern that may relate to Michigan State University. We also interpret and explain university policies and procedures. Here, you can speak freely because the Office of the University Ombudsperson offers an environment where you can talk with a confidential and impartial resource about a complaint, conflict or problem. 

    As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and fair environment, we actively engage with the university community through initiatives designed to enhance understanding of university policies, procedures, and conflict resolution practices. Our outreach takes many forms, including presentations/workshops, assessments, policy/handbook reviews, and systemic feedback. Each of these activities contributes to our broader mission of improving organizational effectiveness and resolving conflicts in a just and equitable manner.   • Office of Student Support and Accountability (Restorative Justice and Conflict Management)

    The Office of Student Support and Accountability (OSSA) centers care, equity, integrity, and learning in processes that emphasize the importance of working with students and the community. Our work includes student and organizational conduct, academic integrity, care and intervention, conflict resolution, medical amnesty, and medical leave and return.

    The Workshop Series is designed to help students reach their undergraduate research goals. Various sessions are offered each semester with a range of topics. Please note that we will accept your request depending on our workshop/tabling schedule and availability.
